- What is Manual J and why does it matter?
- Manual J is the ACCA standard for residential heat-loss / heat-gain load calculation. Done correctly it sizes your equipment to your actual home — not square footage. Most rule-of-thumb sizes are 30-50% oversized, which causes humidity and short-cycling problems.
